Default Battery Question

How high maintenance is our battery? How long can the car sit without being started. The reason I ask is a bought the S in Feb of this year, and the battery died a few months later after I didnt drive it for a few weeks, but I didnt think much about it because it still had the OEM battery that was put in by the factory in 99. So I replaced the battery. Now a few months later the car was dead again, I did go almost 2 weeks without starting it again. I jumped it off and havent had any issuses and it seems to be fine no hesitation in starting

Aftermarket stereo in there? Maybe you have a leak somewhere OR the alternator is struggling to recharge and your new one went bad too.

no its OEM head unit, the only thing I have added electric wise is an alarm. Not sure about the alternator, but it seems if I start the car at least every couple of days there is no problems

I had my battery sit for about the whole winter/snow season (approx. 4 months) and started like a champ. But I did disconnect the cables as well. Still, your car shouldn't die after 2 weeks of not starting it. It could possibly be your alarm taking up alot of juice after 2 weeks. It shouldn't really, but a good possibility. If not, check for leaks and make sure your battery cables are on tight. Last, I would check then if it is the alternator.

i suspect some parasitic draw is occurring. something that takes a significant amount of power is still running and sucking the battery dry even if you turn your the car off. what could it be? no clue. but you're battery just flat out being dead from sitting idle doesn't appear quite right.

i remember leaving my S2000 in "storage" for about three months and only had my dad start it up and leave it running for a few minutes. i came back and the S was fine.

hopefully others can chime in and give hints as to what's seeping your power.

Does your alarm have a blinking light? It could draw more current than you expect.

I'd put a multimeter in the system to check the current draw when you think everything is off.
