Wilwood got a bad reputation from a few incidents on race cars.
They were the absolute worst brakes I ever put on a car, and my car never saw a track with the Wilwoods on. This is how I got to know Sherwin - not in a bad way - his customer support was and he was great to talk to.

The rest of Brakezone (who builds S2000 Wilwood BBK's)........boo hiss - they didn't even know where the brake pedal was on a S2000

Maybe things have changed over there towards S2000's since I last talked to them (over 6 months ago), but I was definitely concerned about what would happen to Brakezone if Sherwin ever left.

Not very encouraging at all. The stock ones work fine with ducting, but they do fade. I would really like some Stoptech's with huge 355mm rotors up front to dissipate the heat, but unfortunately with CE28's that means new wheels or special ordered fronts.

The reverse faced Kinesis seem to look great, though I'll bet they are 18-20 lbs. Anyone know for sure?

I had stoptech bbk on my audi A4, i loved it. For the price, stoptech's #1.

I'm tempted to get the 18" SSR GT7 wheels just to clear the bbk. I know you don't need spacers with those wheels.

I like the idea of a 17x9 like BlueSaint mentioned. Maybe with a +40-45 offset. I wish there were better looking wheels that would fit.

If you're only after perfomance and don't care about the look, then just upgrade your pads. The S has excellent brakes from the factory and I'm pretty sure most of the trackers use the stock brakes with race pads. I have full race compound Cobalts that I use for track days. Only thing I can say is wow! Huge difference compared to the stock pads. No rotor upgrade or anything. You can snap someones neck after they're warm.
sounds like the after market is a bunch of over-priced rice, then
where can i get these super-pads and how much?
is it wise to use them on the street?

They're not recommended for the street b/c they have to be hot to be effective. Plus they squeel and dust like crazy. They're only for track use really. You can pick up a full race set for around $300 from the s2ki marketplace. I'm running Cobalt GT-R spec VR for the fronts and spec VX for the rears. The GT-sports are more street friendly I think.

The aftermarket isn't necessarily rice, it's just that the added performance is only marginal for the few grand that you dish out. Plus the BBK's look sweet
