so....is the AJ edition 60rs FX edition real or fake? that's the whole point of this tread and i don't think we have a definitive answer
That is real. originally, we gave an X amount of quantity to get these made, we requested with 2 pieces design (for lower shipping cost for customers) no resonator (because we know the resonator will have high chance of breakage) and no colour on the muffler, only tip with gradient finish BUT anyhow, because of communication error, the exhaust were made with reinforced resonators and the muffler sits straighter. This particular exhaust did solved the previous resonator and rear muffler hangers hitting the subframe issues.

All these exhausts were imported in 2007 and if you asked me why the products didn't have sticker or badging, I seriously don't know what to say because for most of the time, they supplied the product like this.

AKA J's Racing North America's website = www.jsracing-net.com was an authorized website by j's. Most the information and material were supplied by them and we just hosted this site for information. Only some of the products that we have installed, we put up pictures to show customers fitment on USDM cars. For the ones we never installed, we have used the material which they supplied.

i worked at ajr for almost 10 years and while i was there i never ever package or installed any fake products.

i was the mechanic at ajr and i did all the installation. they were many j's exhaust which came with out a badge or logo. here are some pics that ben gave me awhile back to forward to a customer.

i quitted ajr 4 months ago, i shouldnt really care but this thread really got to my attention. ajr is a good company, this is just a vouch for them.

I've been dealing with AJR for the past 3-4 years, I can say I have never had Ben steer me in the wrong direction. I've got mad love for the guy honestly, I can call him up, ask him questions, pricing, and pretty much anything and he'll always take the time to tell me what product to buy because brand "X" is having an issue or Brand "X" and Brand "Y" are the same thing so just get the one thats cheaper, you get the idea. He will pretty much do anything for his customers, he is a model business owner, I wish there were more like him.

From my POV there is only a few different ways to make an exhaust, all of them have a style that is made for todays market. So from my POV its hard to say this guy is copying off this other guy. I mean cmon, unless you're buying a high profile brand and sending it off to a company to duplicate it for mass production there are only so many ways to make an exhaust. If people want to make fakes that's is on the person in the wrongs conscious. I feel 110% confident buying from AJR. Ben has close ties to Spoon and J's. Not sure what is happening to J's, could be the economy and bad choices in manufacturers for their products.

I wouldn't doubt parts get hijacked on the way over here, but replacing them with fakes would be pretty elaborate and costly. Just don't buy any J's parts in China or Thailand haha.

It's definitely unfortunate that all of this is going down, I hope everything gets solved soon.

Just as a note, we import our J's Racing products directly from J's Racing in Japan (we bring it in on our own container), so to any of our customers, do not worry, everything is 100% genuine if you've purchased through us!

Speedtech Racing Development and Top Racing Inc in Calgary and Edmonton respectively are the new distributors for Western Canada...AJR is no longer a distributor of J's

To give an unbias response, I'm sure each shop who was/is a J's distributor will defend themselves by saying the product they are selling is authentic, I mean, there's no point of responding a thread admitting that the products they were selling were fakes. If they did, it would just give a bad rep to their business, regardless of how unethical it is, they're all in business to make money. Anyways...

Opinions aside, I've personally dealt with AJ Racing, and they've been very helpful in the past. So they're good in my book

Towards the end, what a lot of people didn't know is that Ben was paying out of pocket to replace poor quality parts and parts with bad craftsmanship.

Here is a valve cover, obviously the paint is not to par.

Here is an exhaust where the O2 bung fell out.

J's basically refused to warranty either of these and apparently there were many others, these two are just examples.

Dear Ben Leung

First of all, it is almost 9 years since we, J’s Racing, started a business
relationship with your company in 2002. We fully acknowledge that your sales
& marketing have made the current J’s Racing popular status in the North America
and we deeply thank you for that.

Unfortunately we have to present you a rather unpleasant notice today. We recently
learned that in spite of your status of an official distributor of J’s Racing, you
have been copying J’s Racing products in a factory abroad and selling the products
as the genuine J’s Racing merchandise.

In order to verify the information and to get the clear evidence we actually purchased
a product from you for an inspection. Regrettably we found that you not only copied the
product but also copied our packing tape and box to make the product look exactly like a
genuine J’s Racing product.

Now that we have a proof and we consider your conduct as a criminal offense, we no longer
can maintain the current business relationship with you. We have already consulted an
attorney in the British Columbia and we are ready to take strong legal actions if necessary.

We strongly feel that an official distributor should be the one policing the copied or
knockoff products. It is outrageous that an official distributor itself sells a copied
product as a genuine one. This is an inexcusable conduct even from the social point of
view and we will not forgive this kind of crime.

Regarding this matter, we are considering the number of actions. We will give you one
chance of providing us a sincere response and coming up with an offer for a monetary

Our actions include but are not limited to
1) Termination of the distributor status
2) A legal action to demand accounting information on the quantity of the copied products
produced and to demand a definite proof for destroying the copied products.
3) Bringing a criminal charges against A&J Racing
4) Disclosure of the issue on our website using your company’s name
5) Disclosure of the issue on the several forums in the world using your company’s name

To name several forums,
https://www.s2ki.com/
http://www.8thcivic.com/
http://www.nagtroc.org/forums/
http://www.honda-tech.com/
http://hondamarketplace.com/
http://www.fitfreak.net/forums/
http://www.team-integra.net/
http://www.definitivedriving.com/
http://www.nsxprime.com/forums/

6) Notification of the issue to all the manufacturers J’s Racing has business relationship with
7) Notification of the issue to all the companies J’s Racing has traded with
8) Notification of the issue to all the magazine publishing companies A&J Racing has relationship with
9) Notification of the issue to your father, Anthony

Those actions will inflict serious damages to your company.
In the business world, the trust is the most important. It is very regrettable you have lost our trust.
We will be waiting for your sincere response and a specific compensation offer.
The deadline is April 22, 2009.

Sincerely

J’S RACING Junichi Umemoto

There are still j's products for sale on ajr's website.

Yea I have read all the threads on speculation. First time I've seen this letter tho. Just giving a heads up to those that may not know. I know I would be pretty upset if I were spending that kind of money and receiving knock-off parts.
