Bent Rim
pnty drpr,
I'm running Falken GRB's, but will change to something a little better when these wear out. I wasn't overly happy with the performance of the Falkens.
If you give me the size of the rim you bent, I can see what kind of price a new one would be. Have you already called Goodroads?

What size are you running on the tires.
I went with P-Zeros, but the rear ones already wore out. So I put on Nitto 555's on the rear. Front Pirelli's are still fine.
The Nittos are good, for the price. I think the Pirelli's were better, but at that price, I want more than a couple of months out of them.
Check on the 7.5 width, but don't spend too much time on it. I think I will just get it fixed. Most people have told me that they were happy with the results on their wheels.
Got any pictures of your car?

You kept the rims, right?
Looks, or looked, great.
The yellow one is nice. When do you get it?
How are the 225/40's? My car is lowered but I am sure they will clear.
How do you attach pictures?

Yea, keeping the wheels was a definite. They will be back on the night I get my new car. It was built on Nov. 23rd, so I'm hoping a delivery by mid January.
The 225/40's are fine, no problems yet.
I attached the picture from a photopoint account. Check your email, I'll send you detailed instructions.

I am also going to Hot Import Nights tomorrow night at the convention center. There should be some nice cars there. You should check it out.

Thanks for the tip on Import Nights, but I've got a hot date ... with my wife
.
If you do go with the choice to repair the rim, make sure you do some homework on the shop that does it. Try to find others that have used their services and talk to them.
On one set of my Prelude rims, I have some 17" OZ (a set that I paid some premium dollars for), I had bent the two passenger side wheels and couldn't afford to replace them. I took them to a wheel repair shop, which gave me a REAL good price. However, the results where lack than luster.
I had to take them to another rim shop, which was WAY outside of Chicago. They then un-did the wrong of the first shop, and then re-did the rims correctly and perfectly. I was told by the owner of the second shop that the first shop is very good at what they do, which no one told me until it was too late, that the first shop did steel wheels very well. Many dealers would send factory steel wheels to the first shop to get some really, really good work done.
The effort to fix two rims cost me a little more than twice what it should have (not including all the driving and headaches), but it was still much cheaper than to replace two rims (in fact it was cheaper than to replace one rim, but not by much).

I have 18" Racing Hart M6 with Pirelli P7000 on them. 225/40 in the front and 255/35 in the back with adjustable coilovers. I have about a finger gap between the tire and fender. The only time I get any rubbing is when I hit a big bump at a good speed >40 or if I am cornering hard and hit a bump. Fortunately I have been able to avoid the potholes and such so far so good.
I know the 225/40 will work fine on the front and I would keep what you have on the back (255/35). By the way, isn't DAZZ the manufacture of Racing Hart wheels?
My wheels are also 3 Piece but it looks like they are forged together I have been wondering how they would take apart the rim if anything happened to it.
I really like the C5...I would love to trade my M6's for a set of C5's.

SilverSurfer-I am definitely sticking with the 255/35's in the rear. Fits perfectly,
And I know what you mean about the rubbing. Only at higher speed, coasting over a bump, or in a tight corner.
But its not too bad, and for the look, I am willing to put up with it.
Yes, Dazz is the distributor of RacingHart. When the shop that sold me the rims contacted them, Dazz said that they will only sell the whole rim. And yes, the three piece RacingHarts can be taken apart. Thats how they intend to fix mine, take then apart, and carefully fix the lip.
I am definitely going with 225/40 (maybe 235 if I can fit it) to keep this from happening.
I love the C5's too. Clean wheel.
