Berlina Black Owners Question – would you buy again?
In my search for an S2K I am turning up a lot of black ones that are in really nice shape. My question for current Berlina Black owners is this...
Would you buy the same color again or hold out for one that is less maintenance?
I have two white cars right now (one is a classic in white) and I rarely wash them. I don't know if I am up to the maintenance of a black car, but the S2000 sure looks cool in black.
Thanks!

It would take a lot for me to buy another dark colored car, let alone a black car. You live anywhere with significant hard water and/or windy, then you're looking at dirt and water spots 2 days after a wash.
That, or I know this dark colored/black car would have a permanent spot in the garage.

You'll wash it, take a drive, and... its dirty again. I love BB, looks wonderful, but a chore to keep clean!
would buy again, if it had red interior.

I love dark colored cars. But, I swore off them years ago because no matter what you do they always look dirty. This is less of an issue for an S which I assume you are driving only in good weather. But, for any daily driver, especially in the north, you are looking at a dirty car all the time.

Owned the Black Mamba for 8 years and was my DD for 5 years. She is hard to keep clean but one of the best looking car period and after a good detailing it’s the best. Best of luck.

Of course, the other way to look at it is that your light colored car is actually just as dirty, if not more dirty, but you don't see it as much. Light colors could lead to poor finish maintenance.

My 2005 Berlina Black has been my DD for 10 years and over 85k miles put on it. I love how it looks but I'm not sure I would have went with black if I did it again since it's SOO hard to keep clean.
If you like keeping your car super clean, I recommend owning a handful of microfiber cloths and a good waterless car wash spray if there isnt a self serve carwash nearby or you don't feel like washing your car in your driveway several times a week.
I love Chemical guys stuff.
