dbrower....hit the nail on the head. Most people with performance sports cars only use a very small portion of their capability.

When I can lap my (stock) car as fast as a pro race driver can lap it then I will feel the CAR is ready for improvement.

Bieg-

Do you have a wife named Susanna? If so, I met you in New York when I was in town visiting a client.

Someone said
a lot of "street racers" out there driving S2k that need a few extra hp to be able to beat the competition so I would never critize someone for adding mods.
I'm not going to criticise the inveterate fiddlers. By definition, they have more time than money ans sense, and a hobby is a hobby. When someone says "cost effective" and "mod" in the same sentence I will tut-tut. A few HP isn't as good as better technique, even to a street racer. In order to win a street race against a better driver, you need a -huge- equipment advantage somewhere. A few HP won't make that much difference. Perhaps the S/C is such a huge advantage -- but it's hard to argue that such a mod is at all "cost effective" compared to just having a car that is oriented towards that sort of street race -- like, say, a CamaroBird or a Mustang.
