The bigger the cells, the better IMO.

I got a Nascar brand type 34 made by Exide over at Sam's club for about $60ish that puts out CCA of 770 and CA of 950. It's only an inch wider and has the same length as stock so I extended the holddown, added a L-bracket, and isolated the battery from the bar with weatherstripping. It fits the space perfectly. Even comes with a built in carrying handle for ease of placement.

You never have to worry about running the battery down with this puppy.

I'd get an Optima yellow top. Hands-down one of the best available.

Thetz99: It looks like there isn't much clearance between your extended hold down and your air conditioning lines. Be careful that it doesn't rub, or you could be in for an expensive repair.

For components that don't rock, shake, or move, as long as they don't touch there won't be a rubbing issue or fear of failure. Thx for the concern. This was one of the first things I had to replace on my baby, that was 20K ago.

I'd stick with the OEM, but that's my preference. I'm not running any audio equip. or anything so perhaps that's why. I think the Optimas are overpriced and junk. I never had power issues in my civic until I switched to the Optima, I had 2 replaced under their warranty. Junk, Junk, Junk.

I used to have a Braille battery in my R32 (VW that is), since the Braille only weighed 11.5 lbs. it shaved of 35 lbs. of weight from in front my front left tire.. made a HUGE difference on that car. Here is a link to a Braille PDF

Another vote for Optima Yellow Top. Car starts up right away, also i have some audio equip so I opted for a little more juice. No complaints so far (6 months installed).
