Hi i am lookin into getting a hard top soon. i contacted trevor at honda accessories and he quoted me with a grand total of $3,208... seems pretty reasonable to me but i am just wondering if any of guys have gotten a better price than that excluding instalation. if so where did you get this price from? do you guys advise that i install it myself?

I did my install myself. The actual install wasn't that bad at all. I'm still having difficulties getting the top to line up correctly without wind leaks though. So I'm going to try to fix that this weekend. The honda dealer by me wants $195 for 3 hours of labor on the install. So I figure it's worth a try to do it yourself. If all else fails you can pay them to redo the install. It was pretty straightforward though. Basically just remove many panels, replace a couple parts, add the 2 rear holders, hook up the defroster and line the hardtop. The instructions call for a 14mm socket which I never found a place to use. The 14mm wrench I think was for the nut under the shift knob, but I used a crescent wrench instead.

S2KRoadster.com posted this:
My biggest decision factor was the price. I paid $2940.35 for HT, HT install kit, and installation. I think this was a pretty good deal, considering some of the other prices I heard off and seen.

I don't know if other dealers are willing to offer the same kind of pricing but it might be worth checking out. You may want to contact S2KRoadster to see how he got this deal.

Is the hardtop one of those things where when you put it on, it really just stays on? I mean, I looked at the instructions for install... looks kind of a pain, cause of the wiring... but once it goes on, do you take it off?
