Ive had the K&N FIPK and although it sounded nice and had the heat shield, it would cause heat bog on a hot day. I switch to the spoon style snorkle along with a K&N filter and am completely happy with it. No heat bog and notice much better throttle response, especially at highway speeds.
you do know the stock airbox does nothing for heat bog right?

You know the snorkel he mentioned does though, right? IMO, getting a snorkel or a cooling plate with the stock air box is the way to go.

The stock box is very efficient, and a K&N filter helps a little bit, but you won't get a lot of power from an intake on an S2000. If you want the sound though, I'd get a K&N FIPK or an AEM V2.

so will an FIPK allow heat bog where a stock intake wouldn't?
or would the FIPK be at worst the same as stock, and at best add a few hp?

Honestly, if you're sitting still for any period on a hot day, you'll have initial bog no matter what your intake is - FIPK, Stock, cooling plate, AEM, etc. Just goose the gas to clear the hot air out (by sucking it in) before you really go to avoid bog. There will always be hot air to get sucked in, but the temps drop the farther from the engine you get - intakes really help you once you're moving.

Realistically your not gainin much from any intake but I installed the AEM V2 and i think its great it sounds awesome especially when the v-tec kicks in...when im drivin normal its just like a normal car but when i punch it, people all look to see whats goin by because of the intake..i have stock exhaust so nothing else would make people wanna look....good luck!!

If you're strictly looking for power, I have seen the Injen CAIs gain a decent amount of power on the dyno throughout the band somewhere like 5-8 hp. Otherwise, the K&N FIPK has been netting some gains as well.

I personally prefer the stock box with a snorkel or AUT cooling plate though.

Fujita are the same design, if not slightly better quality and are cheaper. Plus I think the air filter is simliar to the Apex'i where it has a channel to funnel air more effiecently.
