What is the top speed of a S2000 with 4:44 gears?
If you are concerned about the top speed of this car, you will most likely not keep your license for long.
But anyway, I'll explain. The "geared" top speed of a stock S is over 165 mph, however, it will never get there due to drag. In reality, the top speed on the flat as observed by many is around 150 mph. The "geared" top speed of an otherwise stock S with 4.44 F.D. is around 153 mph. I don't believe anyone with these gears have actually tried to see if the 8% added mechanical advantage will help this car achieve those extra 3 mph. I think it will.

C'mon I know some of yall have mods!
Isn't it true that the VAFC works better (more gains)on the MY00 and MY01 than the MY02 and MY03 because the later have a better programmed ECU?

run with an open header, gives great topend hp at the expense of losing low end torque. its highly illegal and is very very loud(but sounds nice and aggressive). its also free .

I still believe that is just an assumption folks are making. I've seen plenty of dynos on this board where MY02s made the same hp. Every car is different, every dyno situation is different there just isn't substantial evidence to prove that it is true. I've seen dyno days where MY00s, MY01s, and MY02s have gotten together with different results. To many factors and to little variables for everyone to just hold this as gospel.

(I don't have a S2000 yet.. I'm just curious)
if you get a 00-01, you can buy a 02-03 ecu from a junked s2k and it'll give your +5whp. the newer ecus are tuned better since honda learned from their mistake during the first two production years.
