What is the best replacement for the OEM battery? What works best for those of us in hot climates?

I've heard most generic batteries in the south only last 2-3 years, which is short for me... I'm hoping 3-5 years with low/no maintenance.

In Texas batteries die at nearly the 3 year mark very consistently. A dealer once told me that the batteries are the same and that you are only paying for the difference in warranties. Of course, YMMV.
