Best springs?
Save for some coil-overs. It's so worth it... Take it from me, I had tein s-tech sprinfs before and hated it... Now I have koni yellow shocks and eibach ground controll coilovers and love it... I can adjust it to any height I want, so worth it....

not too much that you can notice it, well for me at least
i drove my friends s2000 with bilsteins couldnt even tell difference
actually it felt even better because of less body roll

thats because they do... I don;t know why he thinks that any thing after market sucks. But thats not true. A good afetr market suspension will handle alot better than a stock set up...
Speed cost money!!How fast do you wanna go.???

But you won't get a good aftermarket to improve on OEM,for $150.00.!!!

But they handle like POS.

So, I'd say its better. If you go too low yes it will get worse, you'll bumpstops get instant understeer, etc. but IMO KG/MM's and Espelirs are great.
As for Espelirs being progressive rate, I know I said they were, but truth is I just think they are. I'm pretty sure they are basically the same as the KG/MM's which ARE progressive rate

The Pro-kit improved both roll and stearing feel for me over OEM. As a bonus it looks damn good lowered.
I'm sure coilovers are great, but this is a fairly inexpensive mod and well worth it if you ask me. The Eibachs seem to be the more expensive of the bunch, but I got mine slightly used for $125 from another member.
So in other words, I don't think it's fair, or correct to say that springs will hender a car's performance. The cheaper the spring maybe. If you get $45 ricer springs that are only meant to lower the car, then yeah. If you choose Eibach, Tein, or Espelir, you will be getting a positive mod.
ps. I think springs work better on the AP2s because they tried to make it a little more civil in the suspension. AP1s are probably a little stiffer out of the box, though I've never driven one. Silver9k has it right.

And a good springs/shocks set-up,is better then cheap coilovers.
And OEM shocks are not designed to work, with lowering springs.
I myself,run Kg/Mm Supersports,with Koni yellows,and that set-up,improves OEM handling,but you"re talking $1000.00 here.
And don't forget, to get it corner weighted and aligned.
If you dont have the big bucks, I think springs are fine.
I ran the Eibach pro kit for a while, and thought it was fine. Did several auto-x laps with them, and it was better than stock, and looked a lot better.
Coilovers are better of course, but not everyone wants to spend that kind of dough on that result.
SC might be better than an AEM V2, but does that mean the V2 is a waste of money?
