I honestly dont understand what parents would buy their kids a car. When I was 16 I drove $1000 beaters because thats all I could afford, and I would have never expected my mommy to buy me anything. I had "borrowed" money from my dad but I paid it back in monthly installments like a loan. I dont care if Im a millionaire when I have kids, they will be working and buying their own shit.

Man, times have changed. I remember my parents giving me a car but it wasn't worth the gas that went into it. Kids these days are fortunate that parents get them almost brand new cars. Granted you paid for half. Do your self a favor if you have to post "how to convince my ... to buy you a ..." then just stop cause you cant afford it. Take the insurance money buy a Corolla or Civic and use the rest for school. Graduate make the big bucks and then come an ask whether you should get an S2000.

seriously my mom got me $300 dodge shadow for my first car, and the only reason she got me that was cause I got a job. I paid insurance and gas. But it did me good because now I appreciate the car I bought myself 100x more.

Agreed. My first car was a 1988 Dodge Shadow that my father paid 100$ for, and I was very grateful. Times have sure changed.

My first car was a CRX that i bought from a junk yard! I asked my pops to help me out buying it and he said sure and gave me 10 bucks! HAHA, anyway, fixed it up, bodykit, GSR swap, aventually turbo! I used the money i got from that to put a down payment on my s2000 and took a loan out for the rest! In my opinion screw tryin to convince your mom to buy you a car. You will no be respected at all! Just save up and take a loan out, pay for it yourself!
