I honestly dont understand what parents would buy their kids a car. When I was 16 I drove $1000 beaters because thats all I could afford, and I would have never expected my mommy to buy me anything. I had "borrowed" money from my dad but I paid it back in monthly installments like a loan. I dont care if Im a millionaire when I have kids, they will be working and buying their own shit.
I agree, it didn't make sense for us to get our kids nice cars. We got them beater Civics and it was a good thing. My daughter wrecked the Civic and a older Toy4x I got her, she bought her next car. The boy wrecked my Toy4x and his Civic before he got his own car. We live out in the sticks so they ended up driving quite a bit just to school and they're jobs, it was 15 miles to school, lots of opportunity for missing a turn or getting distracted.

Man, times have changed. I remember my parents giving me a car but it wasn't worth the gas that went into it. Kids these days are fortunate that parents get them almost brand new cars. Granted you paid for half. Do your self a favor if you have to post "how to convince my ... to buy you a ..." then just stop cause you cant afford it. Take the insurance money buy a Corolla or Civic and use the rest for school. Graduate make the big bucks and then come an ask whether you should get an S2000.

So tell her you're going to go buy a civic. Get your 15k back from her, then come home with an S2000. problem solved...

seriously my mom got me $300 dodge shadow for my first car, and the only reason she got me that was cause I got a job. I paid insurance and gas. But it did me good because now I appreciate the car I bought myself 100x more.

For $28K you could get a used 2006 S2K. I got my 2007 with 8000 miles for about 28.8K, 35K driveout after taxes, interest, etc. Don't forget insurance & gas cost.

Agreed. My first car was a 1988 Dodge Shadow that my father paid 100$ for, and I was very grateful. Times have sure changed.

My first car was a CRX that i bought from a junk yard! I asked my pops to help me out buying it and he said sure and gave me 10 bucks! HAHA, anyway, fixed it up, bodykit, GSR swap, aventually turbo! I used the money i got from that to put a down payment on my s2000 and took a loan out for the rest! In my opinion screw tryin to convince your mom to buy you a car. You will no be respected at all! Just save up and take a loan out, pay for it yourself!

Still, if mom says no, the answer is no.
