Best way to get black painted wheels?
I've seen photos of several. Is this something you do by having your OEM wheels removed and powder coated? Any recommended vendors in So Cal?
Would prefer a swap is possible.
Thanks

You have the right idea by powdercoating. Or you can simply paint them. From the pics I have seen, ones painted by yourself look very good, or you can have it done by a bodyshop.
You might check/ask in your Cali forum for info on the very nice folks at Spugen. They do pc work, and even offer it on a swap basis (or at least they did + $$ for the 00-03 wheels).
Might try to pm ZO6-Killer, he did a nice job of painting them himself and has had them for quite some time.

I've done the painting on my old car and powdercoating on the s2k. Painting is a cheap alternative, but I could never get the "shine" like the powdercoating did. I used over 10 coats of paint and 3 coats of clearcoat and granted they looked fine in pictures, they never looked gloss black. Your choice, 10 bucks for paint and a decent look or 200 and get the gloss look.
