there is no 'best'.. its all a matter of preference. Anyway, I voted for MY00 because its a year 2000 honda S right??

 

I always liked the 02-03, until the 06 came out.

Well, I'd say there are "better" even if there are no "best". The glass soft tops are better than the plastic, and the later years have the wrinkles or TSBs sorted out. For that, I's say 02-03 are best for AP1s. Then you have AP2s either with VSC or not, and other small changes, so its either 04-05, or 06+. Then you have the debate over oil consumption in AP1s and higher torque is AP2s, which may lead you to state that AP2s are better. But then you have the AP1s 9k reline where the AP2 only has an 8k redline, etc...

The 03 is the last of the "original" S2000s, before the car started getting "soft" with a lower redline, softer suspension, traction control, etc., so maybe that's the best. I chose an 04 over an 03 after testing them both out, and chose the 04 so I'd say the 04-05 stretch was better than the 00-03 cars. VSC is nice, so maybe that makes it better than the 04-05s, and so on.

This kind of debate never ends with a definitive answer because all the cars have their unique strengths, and they are all great cars. You really can't say one year/version is the best.
