Oh, and I'm surprised no one has mentioned clutch delay valve FTL.
Prob because the CDV isn't really an issue. Its the heavy flywheel Honda went to in 2004. Check my sig. If you're going to mention CDVs in AP2, you might as well mention broken diffs in AP1s. Neither is really a problem with the cars, just owners that abuse them.

This is what my datalogger (MaxQ) states on both my late AP2 and the current CR vs a friends AP1 along with other AP1s.
Interesting...I've monitored that metric when dyno testing for 11 different AP1s and 7 different AP2s on the same dyno. Consistantly the AP1s fuel cut off were between 9050-9100 and the AP2s were 8125-8175. But I don't quibble and call it 8200 and 9100.

I can agree with those numbers, but 8200 and 9100 is very different from 8200 and 8900.

Thank you for sharing your experiance.

model year 2000.
Honda even named the car after it.
The name is derived from the original engine displacement. Two liters.

Redline is a red herring if you understand the powerband of the engine. Honda engineered the car to make more power sooner, rather than waiting for 6k rpms, and in the process lowered the redline. Its not like you're missing out on anything but the noise of 9k rpms. If thats the aural experience you want, a pre-2004 S2000 is one of the few street cars to provide it.

Hands down an '03 but with 4.77 gears! Will blow the torque feeling away from an ap2 by having gears and still rev to 9k.

[QUOTE=ncsu-tc,May 7 2009, 07:16 PM] no it is not an ignorant statement

8k is the redline in the AP2 and 9k is the redline in the AP1.

Fuel cutoff is higher

I was referring to your weatherman comment genius.

Instead of letting me prove to you on an internet forum how the devise works, why don't you research it yourself because I could care less about the outcome.

Still you are seriously missing the point and arguing over pointless issues. Forget the tampons and switch to some Midol. Let me ask you, do you even remember why I prefer the CR? Here is a hint ... It had nothing to do with the 8k vs 9k (8200 vs 8900 in my observations) Pull out your penis comparison sigs and start the war

Also, why do you act as though I'm bashing the AP1 ... Im not and really like the car. Find another hobby bro...
well I have register 8980 on my scanguage - so I know that the motor will rev to that point - so explain that differance to me smartass!?

I was not getting into an insult contest - you did. You need to learn to make points without having to start with the insults like an 8 year old. Now go in your room lay on your bed and cry like the little bitch you are appearing to be.
