Which is better-older S2000 or newer S2000
I purchased a new 2008 S2000 back in September, And I have read lots of reviews on the 2 liter and pre traction control S2000s. I guess this question is aimed at the guys who have owned both. And I have no plans on doing any modifications.

just turn off traction control and there you go.. if you aren't doing anything to it, then it doesn't matter which one you got. in my personal opinion though, I would never ever buy a 2008-2009 S2000 considering the body style never changed and all they did was get heavier.
Let me rephrase the question, which is more fun, the car that does 8000 rpm or the car with the 9000 rpm red line. I always hear about the vtech power band, when it hits 7000rpm you will get this surge of power, I have tried this and I do get a power boost but not like the way everybody talks about. Don't get me wrong this is a fun car, and I love this car. But I don't want to get a ticket trying to find this power band. So let me know if I am doing something wrong.

Well, first off you should be getting that power around 5500-6000 rpms.
I've had 2 my2000 s2k's and now a 2006. Honestly, it was nice to be able say I had a car that had a 9k redline but it really doesn't matter much. The gearing was a little different in the earlier models as well, but the difference doesn't mean much either.
At the end of the day, stock for stock, they are so close in performance that it all comes down to preference. It rains a lot in NJ, so I'll take the traction control.
Fun factor, well my last s2k was supercharged so it was more fun
, but stock for stock really doesn't seem to matter.

I'm not allowed to talk about why I think the AP2's are better (mostly), but 9000RPMs get less impressive over time. I was wowed by it until I started riding a bike and cruise at 10kRPM daily. Don't let that be the deciding factor.
