Default Is it better to powder coat or paint.

I want the spokes on my rims a different color. Before i do anything, i just wanted to know if itll be better to powdercoat the spokes or paint the spokes. Which will look better and which will last longer and which will stand debris more.

Lastly, which is more expensive?

Sorry if this has been answered already. Thanx

Powder is more expensive, last longer, looks better, and is a better idea

I've seen several rims who have been painted for a while and they look tacky when compared to the rims that have been powder coated.

You'd be amazed at how many things hit the rim and knick the paint and how corrosive the brake dust is.

Powder coat!

Powder coating is MUCH stronger than painting. I know of only 1 bad thing about powder coating. After time, if you look very closely the powder coat looks like it has a little orange peel, and that no matter what you do or who you take it to.

But I'd recommend powercoating either way.

I talked to one of the members here who powdercoated his GPW rim to white and it looked very nice. Seems like the price can be quite expensive though..

powdercoating is the way to go. the adhesion through powdercoating is unreal compared to traditional paint

You can just buy the kit for cheap. Need a crappy oven and a very clean workspace.
