Beware of the worst body shop in Tampa
I have a 2000 S2000 and last December My wife drove my car for the first time. After work driving home a lady in a Mercedes ran right into the back of my car. damaging the bumper cover, deck lid and brake light. talk about almost making a grown man cry at the site of my poor baby! CAR that is, not the wife! any way. I figured that I would take the car to the dealership, ( who else better to make a car new again!) I took my car to Lindel Honda collision and repair on Florida Ave, Tampa Florida.
It took them about 4 1/2 weeks to get the car done. When I went to pick it up. It was the worst job I have ever seen. Now remember the damage was to only the bumper cover and deck lid and upper valance ( slight warpage) They painted the whole back half of the car. The paint had orange peel texture all over. the color was a shade too dark. the damage on the bumper cover was not fixed, just painted over. and then you could see the mask lines of where they taped off the areas of original paint. 1/16 inch difference. Plus dirt in the paint and clear coat. And to top it off! I guess that during clean up they used a dirty sandy rag to clean the back window and scratched the heck out of it. I pointed it out to them and it was like, they don't clean windows during prep or detail. yea right! Anyway I ended up taking the car back to them 2 more times to straighten things out. they did replace the back window. But the shop neglected to put all the interior parts back in right. and screws missing and a 3 1/2 inch gash in my door sill plate on passenger side. Well I've had it! I refuse to ever use there shop or dealership again and I want to make sure that the word gets out about this place. Shop around and check out the work before you take your car to a place.

Thanks for the info. I have not used there body shop - thankfully. But I did shop for my S2000 there. They only had a yellow one on the showroom floor but I wanted Silverstone w/Red. They had a Silverstone with black coming in the next day - I said no because I am not going to pay $30k plus for something I didn't want. He tells me they can replace the black interior with the red. In my mind I am thinking - Hmmm, and how much will that rattle? As well, they also had the $10,000.00 dealer markup and the salesman proceeds to try to justify. Nontheless I saw a beautiful white w/red in Brandon and it's mine.
Hope everything finally worked out with the body work.

I can recommend an excellent Honda collision shop if you're willing to cross the bay. Autoway Collision (536-0557) has done flawless work on my Civic Si including a complete factory repaint. The place does all the collision work for Autoway Honda and specializes in Hondas. They're on 19 between East Bay and Gulf-to-Bay (60).
I've also had bad experiences with Lindell. I brought my car there with obvious differential problems and they wouldn't address it. It was "something else" according to them. Guess what broke a few miles (after the warranty expired) later? The differential. Guess who wouldn't fix it?
You betcha.

Thanks for the info of across the bay. Oh I forgot to tell all of you. When dropping your car off at a repair shop, body shop, dealer mechanic. Record your mileage! I found that each time that I drop my car off at Lindel, they had put on between 24 and 29 miles. I confronted the manager and he said well they had to take the car to the upholstery shop. and I told him at 24 miles or better?
Quit taking my car for joy rides! unless you want to pay for them! Its amazing when I went back in for the back window to be replaced. They only put on 10 miles.
You really have to watch these people.
AT this point I'm sorry to say, But I'm selling the car. I've been thinking about a Dodge Viper or a Lotus? Not sure yet. All I know is that I don't want the Honda anymore. Don't get me wrong I love the car. The way she takes corners, passes cars shifting through the lanes in a flash! And that beautifull exhaust note at 8900 rpm. Wow almost gives me a woody! But alas my baby is not the same to me and must go.
