Big Brakes
I was just at my speed shop and saw a set of brake calipers that weighed next to nothing. They felt like they were made of some type of thermoplastic.
Anyone with experience with Wilwood Brakes (www.Wilwood.com.)
My tech guys tells me these brakes are used heavily in NASCAR and are very affordable, yet extremely LIght Weight. My understanding is they also make a 6piston caliper with variable piston size, so brake control is much easier to modulate. Just think monster brakes at half the price of Brembo same or less weight as Spoon's brake system.

Wilwoods aren't the best choice for the street as they don't have dust seals and require a rebuild every year - not a big deal, but more hassle than a lot of the other stuff out there.
So far the most promising stuff I've seen is being done by board member dwb1. That is going to be a very trick setup.

I have been searching for a Big Brake kit for some time. I've been debating whether to go with a Brembo setup that my NSX tech can put together using NSX brembo kit.
My other thought was that if there was enough interest in this Wilwood Brakes, I might dig deeper and perhaps be able to produce a kit worthy of my fellow Stook owners. I had the brembo setup on my NSX and darn do big brakes stop and stop and stop.
The only setback is so much weight on the brembo lotus calipers. I did not want to add to much weight on such a nimble racer as the Stook.
If anyone is interested I'll grab the shovel and start digging on this project for us Stook fans who love unlimited brake power. If there are Ideas please lemme know. I have two weeks till my roll cage is finished and three months till Leguna Seca. hehehe.

Besides, I think a GB Wilwood kit will cost under $900 for new calipers, rotor and hub.
I will look into a caliper kit that will mount to the stock mounts so there will no need to operate with bigger wheels. I think the stock setup will be a 4 piston kit. I inquired about the weight difference and it will be significant reduction. I will have some spec and weight hopefully sometime next week.

Don't know the cost because it hasn't been finalized. But it will not be inexpensive, nothing like the $900 Davies2k envisions for the Wilwood kit. In fact, I don't think the stock rotors, calipers, and hub could be replaced for that price.
