How exactly would this Spoon part help? Anyone know if it was designed to prevent this issue?

Actually the stock setup has a full baffle plate to keep the oil in its place. The smoke problem sure sounds like high revs have pumped a bunch of oil up top and deceleration forces it all forward so for an instant it cannot drain quickly. Gee forces at just the right time allow a bit of oil to get sucked into the PCV. The resolution is almost certainly with the PCV valve or line.

If that is the case, a possible simple solution may be to provide a small baffle on the inside of the valve cover to keep oil from flooding the pcv. Sound good?

Rossi, Thanks for the good info on Porsche sumps. Wow, I did not realize Boxsters et al do not have dry sump lube!

Also, forgot how much oil I had to use to fill the '86 turbo I had. I remember overfilling and getting that smoke on startup at times from the oil getting into the horizontally opposed cylinders.

I was getting smoke in turn 2 at Sears Point yesterday. Turn 2 is a righthand corner, uphill with very light braking and a downshift, turn in under light, feeding throttle, cresting the hill at the apex at full throttle. I drove about 80 miles, 40 laps and lost about a quart of oil.

I don't think the problem is due to overfill, because I let the level drop and the smoke continued.

I spoke with the Scott at King about this and he agreed with cdelena - the oil apparently can't drain fast enough and gets sucked into the intake.

I first encountered this in April of 2000 with my '00 silverstone at NHIS (New Hampshire) Turn 3 - a sharp 35 mph hairpin almost... It's normal according to the Honda engineers - depends on instaneous G's.
