My son is 6'6" and he was pissed when I bought the car figuring he would not fit in it. Fit he does - just barely. He drove it a few times and now I can't get him to even help switch the cars around the garage. He hates the fit and is very uncomfortable in it.
Sorry but that his story.
I'm not sure this car will fit you - sorry.

it's worse in the miata, i am not even tall at all(5' 10-11") and i have to duct to see the light(even those big interection with one big one in the center and one smaller light on the right side). lesson learned, don't drive up to the line, leave half a car's length's room in front between your car and the light

i'm ~6'2 210...my first test drive was a short one, with a dealer, and top up. i hated it. on my way back around i drove another one, top down, by myself. sold. it's kinda hard to explain really...yeah i'm making some compromises on room, but for me it's totally worth it. if i was any bigger i would have to give a little more consideration to something bigger, but hopefully i'm done growing (i'm 27.) as far as seeing stoplights...yeah sometimes i have to lean down to see under the windshield frame...at night you can just watch the reflection of the lights off the hood!!

one other thing...i wish the S had adjustable pedals. there is a hsit ton of room behind them. on long interstate trips i just slide my feet behind them. my $.02.

I have both and if you liked the Miata you'll Love the S. It has more room in all the right places.

I don't understand the comments about lack of elbow room because the S is wider and roomier than the Miata in all dimensions.

Depending upon whether your height is in your legs or in your torso you might have your head up in the air stream but that's an issue with both. As mentioned looking at stop lights can be a challenge in both cars.

Oddly it is easier to swing your legs in and out in the Miata as the door starts further up on the fender than does the S.

I'm not very tall, more of a linebacker. I have a wide back and shoulders so the tight seats are a tight fit.

Go to the dealership, sit in one, make determination.

Get lowered seat rails for the stock seats and you'll be fine, I think.

6'3" 200lbs here, the fits tight but there are things you can do about it. I've driven 10 hrs in it one way and am no more uncomfortable after that than being in any car for 10 hrs. My one way commute is an hour. I don't scrunch down to see stop lights and my thighs clear the wheel fine. I little wider would be nice, if your used to moving a lot while driving then you'll have to get used to NOT moving much or learn to take advantage of the room that's there. 1st thing you MUST do is lower the seat, it makes ALL the difference, you can get a rail or do the FREE mod (that's what I did, twice). That in itself will eliminate most of the fitment issues. Currently my head is just a tad lower than the roll hoop, I've rolled the car and extracted myeslf w/out a scratch, my passenger was 6'4" and he too was unharmed.

It just depends on how bad you want the car and what you consider obsticles, you wont find anything similar for the $$ and if you did, the fit would still be tight. At our size some comprimises have to be made to but at least your not interested in an Elise, I think I would have to tell you to leave that one to the smaller guys

good gawd ... i shudder at the thought. I've always figured if I ever rolled it that would certainly be a "good way to go".

anywho -- my 2 cents ...

much like a few others here: 6'2"/210/medium to large build ... it's my daily driver and i've taken several road trips (longest = 10 hrs.) ... and I have absolutely no complaints whatsover.

The ONLY thing that has EVER bugged me was that on long trips, my left elbow gets a little uncomfortable from jabbing into the door's armrest. I think the next time I head down to FL, i'm going to take a small pillow to rest there.
