Default BIG Mod Mistake!!!!

Well had my Spoon exhaust put on today...... what a nasty sound!!

No other way to say it.... obviously I should have heard one in person
before buying it... but d@mm who would design something that cavatates
that bad.... like being inside a bass drum.

Will be paying to have the stock exhaust put back....urghhh!!

Yes there was performance gains.... 1st to 2nd shift now putting the car sideways!!

Anyone interested in a VERY lightly used LOUD Spoon N1 Exhaust.... PM me!!

Sorry to rant.... just very dissapointed... thats all!

the "ringing in my ears" Digital ne!!!

Damn, sorry about the dissapointment. I've heard other's say that you *mus* hear an exhaust before you buy it. I'd like to hear it before you remove it. When can we get together?

Not everyone appreciates an N1 setup ... In this case, very obviously so. I regret to hear your comments about the exhaust system but nevertheless I'm sure someone else on the board will find it useful. How much do you want for it anyway?

You went from an exceptionally quiet exhaust to the other end of the range.. not the first person to be surprised about the difference.

I sold my HKS after a couple of weeks and have advised potential buyers to listen to each exhaust INSIDE of the car with the top UP before making a decision. Many sound terrific going down the street, but a steady diet of that din from inside (especially bad at some rpm/throttle openings, and worse in cold weather) is more than I can take.

I currently have a Mugen which I am very happy with.

DM, I LOVE the sound of the HKS. At first, I didn't know how I was going to feel about it; but now I love it. It's audible, but not intrusive, doesn't drown out my stereo or shake things in my house when I start the car in the garage. If you're still in the market for a new exhaust, find someone with an HKS and give it a listen! I'm really sorry about the Spoon exhaust; I hope you find something better!

I don't know about the N1, but the HKS has definitely a nice sound to it from the outside. There are times where the HKS sounds intrusive with the top up, music moderately playing in the backgroud, and trying to have a conversation with the fiance in the passenger seat (right before VTEC with steady gas around 4-5K).

However best bang for the buck in performance and audio levels would be the Mugen exhaust, then again I'm a Mugen junkie without the money....

It sounds stock when driving tamely, unleashing VTEC makes the engine growl in deep bass and just sounds like its getting meaner as the revs kick up. I've heard it from following behind a Mugen equipped s2k, while in the passenger seat, and while driving it.....once the women lets me, I'm getting rid of the HKS and getting Mugen.
