unless you live in antarctica or the Amazon there is absolutely no reason to Top Off your fuel tank, unless you are purposely trying to get something to happen to your car.

That's the ticket, matey. I get so freakin' tired of that 1 big drop that always drips onto the paint near the filler no matter how you try to manipulate the nozzle or pull away quickly. Why didn't I think of that!
That reminds me of this saying back in elementary school. No matter how much you wiggle and dance the last drip will end up in your pants.

I just use the gas cap under the tip of the nozzle. No drips.

That's a user flaw not a design flaw. It says all over the gas pumps not to top off.
But the nozzle did not click off like it has in the other 20 cars I've owned!

Filling up past 1/3 of a tank is too much weight!

Did I ever say I was topping off???

Some gas stations, after fueling up and it "clicks", there's some dripage that occurs. Don't ever say that you've never had extra gas that spills.

There's always a drip from the pump after it shuts off.

I use a rag, and always place it beneath the nozzle when I pull it out. No drips.

I've never either. Pump, Click, catch extra drippage off of the nozzle w/ the gas cap. Done. No issues with this what-so-ever. Maybe if you live in a very rural area where they still hand-pump???
