Default Black plastic trim at the base of the softtop

Has anyone tried to fix the black molding that wraps around the area where the trunk deck meets the bottom of the soft top? That piece of black molding has some abrasion marks on it - i'm not sure why - perhaps the previous owner had a hard top and it rubbed it? It's only in certain parts but if there's something that might actually buff these abrasions out, i.e. some of that nice conditioning stuff our resident detailers use, I'd like to hear about it.

My brother's Saab is rarely cleaned because he's lazy as hell.
He finally wanted to spruce it up a bit so we washed it and started on his bumpers
