Default Blisters in headlight

My 02 has blistering on the black plastic accent trim just ahead of the HID bulb in the headlight assembly. This problem has been described and discussed here, but the posts are 20+ years old. Does anyone have up to date information/advice on this? Is there a fix or is replacement the only answer?

I think they all end up doing it eventually? But I could be wrong. Every ap1 that I've seen where the car actually gets driven has the bubbling - not sure if Ap2s do the same.

The only option would be to replace the light -OR- to disassemble, strip, & recoat the area, and for that I don't know what would be ideal. I think a lot of these coatings are more of a plastic dip than actual paint? I have the same issue and it's something I'd like to address at some point. I was thinking of buying aftermarket lights to steal the lenses off of anyway, maybe if that piece will fit I'll steal that too.
