This morning the my nightmare happened. I started the car and noticed that there was definately something different with the idle, but dismissed it as part of the warm up. Went back in to the house to get my coat and when I came back out the check engine light was flashing and the rough idle had an added tick or vibration noise coming from the engine (raised the hood to verify while the engine was running and the noise was definately from the engine insides).
Recently I began to notice a vibration noise at high RPM shifts. People on the forum came to the conclusion that it was characteristic to the car, but now I am wondering. In either case, the car is on a flat bed on its way to honda. I'll keep you guys posted. Any other blown engines out there?

Sorry to hear it, F1... I recently had valve lash go out of adjustment causing a ticking from #4 cylinder. Another member talked about a spun bearing which needed the engine replaced. Your problem sounds serious if the check engine light came on, and was vibrating so much. I wish you luck, and I know that sinking feeling you felt. I had the same feeling when I started hearing the valve ticking.

Jason,
I was the bearing guy. I'm glad to hear your issue wasn't as nasty as mine.
I hope the same applies to you, F1.
Best of luck and I hope you wake from your nightmare soon

I don't think it is the pourous block issue since I haven't seen any oil on the ground. Then again it could be leaking into another chamber within the block therefore never making its way out to the garage floor.
Again, have any others had a serious mechanical failure that involved the engine? Really curious.
