I think it looks goofy, but then I would rather save the pain of claying & washing the car for an hour or two with a crappy look. The car's going to look like crap after 7 or 8 hours of freeway driving anyway ...

 

Look in the area with auto touch-up paint and the various 3M products. I think it's labled Spray-on-Bra

 

blue painter's tape works fine. just stay away from rain and heat or else it'll be a bitch to remove.

 

Done it a ton of times works great

 

blue painters tape is purposely made so that no residue is left behind. Beware of the regular masking tape
