Default Blue Tape

This might be for the track guys, but where do you buy the blue tape that prevents rock chips. I was telling my boss about it. Is it made specifically for the automotive industry? A link to it would be great!

So it's not made for automotives? Is it 100% safe. As posted, my bosses new car is over $100k and is meant to be a collectors item. He just wants to drive it a few times before it sits tucked away. I don't want to tell him to put the blue tape on and then it peel his paint away or anything!

Nope, regular old blue painter's masking tape is all that stuff is. It's low adhesive so it comes right off with no worries.

It won't prevent dings/dents/scrapes/nicks from huge rocks that could potentially strike your car at high speeds though. I have a few spots to prove it.

3M clearbras are designed to protect against rock chips and bugs... it's not as cheap as painters tape but it protects 1000% better. Also it removes leaving no residue. Cons: Costs $300-$500, but that's not much for a $100k collector car.

There is that new spray-on stuff that washes right off too, I am sure somebody will chime in with the name.

Can't the clear bra be seen when it's on the car? Also, my friend has a clear bra and where rocks have hit it it has left a nasty chip of the clear bra.
