Default Boot fit over softtop when Hardtop is on?

I friend and I were discussing the hardtop the other day and he asked me something I guess I hadn't thought of.

Can I have the softtop covered with the boot when I put the hardtop on? I'm assuming it would just make the interior a little more 'polished' looking...but will have slightly more weight.

Can you remove the boot if done this way WITHOUT taking off the hardtop (in case I decide I don't like it)?

Obviously, I could try it...but I have only a wife/daughter to help lug the hardtop from the nice outdoor shed to the garage so I don't want to experiment much. I thought if someone on the site had already done so, I wouldn't have to fool around while holding the hardtop. :-)

Thanks!

I'm pretty sure I remember reading in the HT installation instructions that it will not fit with the soft top cover in place.

umm... no. there are pins on each side of the hardtop that must lock onto the body via hardtop kit.

You know, an inexpensive boot that WOULD work could be a popular aftermarket item.

In fact, an inexpensive boot that would STAY ON would be a huge hit!
