Are Boxster owners nuts?

Are you sure about that, the m3 looks DAMN GOOD, it does not look like a regular 3 series.

Sorry Sev, Don't agree on the M3.

IMHO, far to many "style enhancers" on a more or less boring 5 passenger coupe body.

Now I've only seen pictures, but I've seen alot of them and keep coming to the same conclusion. Pass.

The standard (even leather) seats of the Boxster are not as bolstered as the S2K's. To get real sports seats means another cost option.

Maybe over there. In the UK the S2000 has depreciated 40% in the first year...

I think I'd rather go for the M3 fully-optioned at around $51K.

No Comparison! Its a coupe and a roadster, and while I'm sure that the M3 is a fine car it does not have the style and feel of an open sportscar.

In a Porche, if you want the Porche badges in the interior you gotta pay for them. I thought of buying a Boxster S before the S2k and the one that I optioned out came in at $62K. The reliability issue prevented me from going ahead with the purchase. Boy am I glad of that decision.

The new M3 will be somewhat limited in production and I predict that dealer gouging will be rampant. The M5 has a demand adjustment of about $20k in my neck of the woods.

I can see the reaction if the typical Boxster Board member could see this thread - "what a bunch of cheapskates, letting mere dollars get in the way of owning a prestigious Porsche"
