"brace" yourself
You can bet Honda spent more than 10x the cars' worth in time and money testing a multitude of configurations and construction before certifying the final design on suspension.
Do you really think that some bolt on stiff bars are going to make the car collectively better? That somehow, someone figured out the 'secret' that has eluded Honda's engineers, Honda's dollars, and Honda's institutional knowledge?
Don't you think that Honda would have picked up on this in the R&D, design and testing of the S? If it these bolt-ons made a collective difference, they would have added it themselves or changed the fabrication of the parts so that they were not needed. There is a team of high paid folks, with high budgets that did nothing else but work on this one facet of design.
Honda could have made a stiffer car, but they knew, calculated, and tested the results and found them to have a fatal flaw in another characteristic of the car.
This car meticulously, artfully, skillfully, and carefully balanced, for reliability, safety, and performance. Sure, you can 'ADD' something and beef up any one of these areas...but when you do, rest assured that you are sacrificing in another area.

your point makes sense if honda said "this is our greatest and best car EVER" but they didn't.
what area do u think suffers when stiffening the chasis? what long term issues arise? im asking.

It's true, Honda, Benz, Bmw, etc have to turn a profit, so something have to left out. Also they could have chose this setup for a good sports car that is driveable. There are many reasons why a car mfg does what it does, profit is the main one that I can think of.

A lot of things *could* happen, but generally speaking it is unlikely that there will be any negative effects from bolt-on stiffeners (other than cost and weight). Just as nobody I'm aware of has ever shown a laptime performance improvement from the stiffeners, neither have they shown a laptime penalty.

If the bolt-ons are not really stiffening much of anything (and more for looks), then it really should not have much of an effect, as it introduces little more than extra weight to the vehicle.
shouldnt it have slower lap times then?
one last time FTW
I hate the idea of spending for bling. i was prepared to sell it assoon as i felt it didnt feel great. these mods are cool, but to each his own.

Does anyone know the torque specs for the various bolts involved in the S2X 4pt. front STB, for a 2006 S2000? I think the shock tower bolts are 36 ft*lbs? There's also the two bolts for the lower attachment points and then there's the bolts that connect the two pieces together.
