Default Brake Conversions

Well I searched and didn't find anything. Has anyone done a brake upgrade with stock parts from other Honda's or factory parts from other vehicles. A "Big Brake" upgrade is too much money for me. I'd also like to know how far people have gone with upgraded rotors and pads. I'd like my car to be a streetster able to withstand weekend track events. I'm thinking of trying to convert the Brembo brakes off of a 350Z.

Share opinions and knowledge.

Thanks,

Andrew

If your goal is to make the S2000 brake well on the track, just replace your fluid with a high BP fluid (e.g. Valvoline Synpower, ATE, Ford HD, etc.), add aftermarket track-oriented pads (e.g. Cobalt GT-Sports), and you're good to go. There is no need for anything other than fluid and pads to make your car stop reliably on the track.

Once you get more track experience and move to non-street (sticky) rubber, you can get more aggressive track-only pads such as the Cobalt VR/VX or Hawk Blues.

Check out the Go-Fast Lab for fluids and pads.

Would it be sensible to do the brake ducting work in a situation like this (track guys)?

^ Yes.
With upgraded fluid and pads, both capable of more heat, ducting can be a very wise addition, keeping in mond not all tracks are created equal, thus some tracks are way more demanding on brakes.
