IMHO,

Castrol LMA (Low Moisture Absorbing) is great everyday brake fluid with occasional non-aggressive track use. Long track sessions with heavy braking might boil this stuff. Very inexpensive and available at most auto parts stores.

ATE Super Blue (also available in gold) is great everyday brake fluid with more frequent/aggressive use of the track. Probably absorbs moisture faster, and needs to be bled more often, than LMA. You can alternate the blue and gold fluid, to easily tell when you have purged the lines. Relatively inexpensive, ($9-$14 liter)

Motul 600 is about the equivelant of ATE Super Blue. Minor temperature differences, but I've also heard that the manufacurers lie a bit on their specs (suprise!)

Castrol SRF (super racing fluid) is the Ferrari of brake fluids. It has the high boiling points of the racing fluids, but very slow moisture absorbtion, so you can keep it in your system for a long time. At $70/liter, it is very expensive for brake fluid, but still inexpensive in the scope of S2000 upgrades

I also installed speed bleeders, and a mity-vac or power bleeder will make bleeding an easier one person operation.

Fluid boiling points...DRY WET

Castrol LMA DOT 3/4...446 311
Ford Heavy Duty DOT 3..550 290
ATE Super Blue Racing..536 392
ATE TYP 200 .............536 392
Motul Racing 600....... 585 421
Castrol SRF ..............590 518
Performance Friction...550 284
Valvoline Synthetic.....512 333

Keep in mind that another consideration for the street is how quickly it absorbs moisture. Unless you change your fluid every week stay away from race fluids.

As I understand it, the "dry" boiling point is the boiling temperature of fresh fluid with no moisture.

"wet" boiling point is when the fluid has absorbed some specified amount of water.

Problem is you pay almost as much for shipping as the brake fluid.

For example, bimmerpartsco.com has the ATE for $9.95, but then charges $6.50 for shipping. I bought it locally at a Porsche speed shop. They skinned me for $16/liter, but alas I got it right away and there was no shipping cost.

Autotechnic.net has it for $8.95, but doesn't list shipping charges.

I use Motul as it is easy to find at any sport bike shop and has a good wet bioling point for the price. Its only about 3X as much as the generic crap.
