brake fluid replacement quantity?
I plan to replace (change) the brake fluid as suggested in my 2001 s2k Honda owners manual using OEM Honda DOT3 brake fluid. How many fluid ounces will I need to do the job? Thank you.
Get a big bottle if you never do it before, esp. with the oe fluid, they are the same color, some people might be confuse and end up flushing out more than they need to.
any reason you staying with dot 3?

Whichever bottle you open, use it all anyway since once you open it, it is strongly reccomended that you not ever use that bottle again.
DOT3 fluid is great for street only use. DOT4 fluid will absorb moisture from the air more quickly and require more often fluid changes. Street driven brakes don't get nearly as hot as track brakes, so for a street driven only car, DOT3 is perfect.

juice ONLY if you left it open(sitting around without the cap back on)
32 ounces (approx one liter) will be more than enough, but that's OK. 12 ounces would not be enough.
As for the leftover fluid:
If you keep the cap on the bottle, the fluid in the bottle will age as slowly as or slower than the fluid in the car. But it will age. So keep the unused fluid in case you need to do a minor bleed of the brakes before your next flush. But the next time you do a complete flush, use brand new fluid.
