The Wilwood calipers come in a choice of forged or billet, not cast.
When I was first looking at the Wilwood calipers as an option (~3 years ago), they listed their 4-piston calipers as "forged". After I did a little more research, I found their "forged" caliper was in fact pressure cast. Forged aluminum is stronger (and more rigid) than pressure cast. Pressure cast components are typically stronger than pour cast.
They may have gone to a true forged caliper in their current lineup, I don't know.

Once again, I would never use anything manufactured from billet aluminum in the functional components in a braking system. Billet works fine for static parts like brackets, but not in things like calipers and disc components (hat sections).

Unfortunately Energetic I really can't take any notice of opinions with no back up. Otherwise I'd just accept the many posts that say "Spoon da bomb".

Perhaps you'd like to illucidate on why you don't recommend Wilwood.

You are quite verbose, sir.

Willwood story. I was at beaverun where this noob had an insane Integra. He'd spared no money making it nice. Turbo, Quaife, everything top dollar and pretty. He had Wilwood front calipers on it.

He made it through 4 track sessions without too much trouble (his suspension setup was really something an advanced driver would use, not a noob). He was looking at his front caliper and noticed the bleeder was seeping a little fluid. He took his ratchet out, and tightened it a bit, then promptly stripped out the bleeder screw which was this tiny little thing. He was stranded there and had to call a tow truck to get home.

I'd heard from others that the bleeders were the wilwood's achilles heel but, this was the first time I ever saw it with my own eyes.

From what a few Porsche guys told me...

Stop Tech is the ONLY brake company that actually makes BBK kits FOR the specific car, and designs them for the specific car. All other makes, (Brembo, Wilwood, etc) just make the BBK FIT the car. No extra engineering, just fitment. Just what I was told. I never owned a BBK, so these arent my words.

You are right, I should back it up, but I didnt cause Wilwood defect is famous by now.

Anyway here is a topic explaining my point and statement.

JohnsS2K has fitted almost all of them.

Also use the search ie Wilwood caliper / oil leaks or similar and you will see many results.
