Default Braless Newbee

Early this month, a guy who purchased a new S2000 at the Honda dealership where I work came in and sold us back his 4000 mile 02 Silverstone. He was strapped for cash. Since it was in perfect shape, and it was offered to me for $28,000, with a hardtop, rear spoiler, 6 disc, and OE chrome wheels, I bought it, (seemed like a good deal). Been lurking on this forum ever since, and as a result, I've already added a Lucid rear speaker kit, Ricks Windscreen, Voodoo knob, and headrest windblockers. The amount of good info on this site is great, but I haven't seen any comments or pictures of S2000's wearing bras. Heading up Calif Route 1 in a couple of weeks into Oregon on a short vacation, and want to keep the rock chips/paint damage to a minimum, so am thinking about a Colgan bra. Anyone with photos that they can post with their S2k wearing a bra? Much appreciated!

Regular bras are pure cheese. Get a clear bra.

The bra will prevent stone chipping, but you'll get chaffing lines due to dirt/dust/sand getting between the bra and the hood. Woodson is right. Get a clear bra. You don't mess up the beautiful appearance of your car, and you'll protect against stone chips. I had mine installed last week, and unless you are right on top of the car, you don't even know it is there.

I agree, bra's ain't pretty, but neither are stone chips. Figure that for an extended trip it would be a good idea, cheeesy or not. But, what's the story with clear bras, how much, and I'm I correct thinking that once applied, they're permanent?

Buy it and ONLY put it on for road trips, then take it right off. They are ugly and rub agains the car and wear the paint down. They are good protection though for short trips and can save you some rock chips and bug stains, but I'd never have it on my car 24/7. Go with a clear bra if that's what you want, it's expensive though.

there is a thread about this somewhere with pictures. From what I understand it's a clear film that goes over the front portion of the car. I think if you can find that thread, then you might get some good info.

You can peel them off at any time, but you can't put them back on. WIDE range of prices depending on who you talk to. I paid $600 CDN (about $400 US) including professional installation. I covered the entire front of the car back about two feet. Also rocker panels, door handles, and mirrors. If you just want the front done, count on maybe 2/3 the price. Some guy here paid about $1100 US. Rip-off!

This place has great prices:

$119 for the standard kit and $316 for the deluxe. Best prices I've found. Same 3M Scotchcal material as everyone else, you install it, but you'll save $$.
