Break-in 600 miles... How long did it take YOU?
I'm thinking I can cruise off the 600 miles in no time at all after I get the car. Maybe drive to the beach and back.
Does it count if you put the 600 miles on in two or three days? Or do you think they intended you to do this over a few weeks with lots of cold startups?

I would guess that it's most important that there be lots of variation in the revs - i.e. minimal freeway miles. I ran my first 600 miles in the back roads in my area - lots of speed variation, stopping and starting.
Due to weather, it took me about 6 weeks to do it. (I'm currently at 637 - I expect to be well past 700 by the end of the weekend.. )

I've already mapped out a good back-road circuit for coming back the 60 miles from the dealership instead of doing highway driving. Plan on varying the revvs in a range below 5500 RPM and not lugging it at any time.

my car was driven at the dealer a few times, so it came with a few more miles on it than i'd of liked, but it took about two weeks to break in, and it still rarely sees Vtec because i think my father is afraid of it.
