Default Break-in Period

Hi Everyone,

I'm taking delivery of a new Silverstone/Black S2000 tomorrow ... any recommendations on the break-in period, aside from the variable speeds and redlining under 1000 miles? Thanks for any help - great site.

Dato

first of all, congrats on the new car.

pls. do a search on the subject before posting a thread. this has been discussed quite a bit previously, but I'll give ya a bit of info: keep it under 5500 RPM in the first 600 miles. that's pretty much it, but you might care to do a search anyway (the field and button on the upper right of the screen)

The first recommendation is to check the oil level, and while you are at it, check to make sure the oil cap is on tight.

Repete the above every time you fill up.

Check the oil. Get 3 or more coats of Zaino on the paint. Check the oil. Don't purchase the front lip or rear spoiler from the dealer. Check the oil. PM hardtopguy for those parts for much less than the dealer will sell them for. And don't forget to check the oil often.

Read the owner's manual ASAP. It will tell you much of what you need to know to get started. They rest, you can find here.

the first 600 miles was the longest trip ever, you will understand what I mean real soon!

Congrats on the car!
