The S-03's are supposed to replace the S-02 PP's, but NOT our OEM S-02 W's. The Porsche S-02 "N" should still be available, and those are NOT the ones to get as the grooves were much wider.

Cant see Bridgestone discontinuing a tire that is coming specified for a current year model car. I suppose if it looks like it will be a problem soon, I had better stock up .

If it's the OEM's you want, just make sure to order the W-rated tires.

BTW, I had about decided to get S-03's next time (with 245/45/16's on the rear) when the OEM S-02's suddenly got much cheaper. Since my main gripe with the OEM's is their high cost per mile, they suddenly look better.

Unfortunately, if you call them we get nothing. The site you go to, the "Upgrade Garage", from here is less than direct and it's confusing. People end up calling anyway and the sales reps "are happy to enter your order directly" which translates to "I'll take your commission, thanks!". I'm not saying don't call, I'm just ranting about selling only 2 sets of tires in 3 months, one of them to me!. I'm contacting them about changing the site they put together for us, saying it's not working is an understatement

The S02 is the right choice. The S03's are not as good a tire. They will wear a bit longer and offer better wet traction but don't handle as well in dry weather. They are better than the S02 Pole Positions but not as good as the S02 OE tires. Tire Rack has not tested the OE tires so making a comparision is a bit uninformed. If you are looking for better wet traction and a bit longer wear, get the S03. If you want dry traction there is no better choice of non competition tire than the S02 Honda OE model. I had a set of S02 PP's and they sucked!! I have no doubt that the S03 is better but I'll stick to the OEs when it comes to street tires. The PPs lasted far too long for my liking, I couldn't wait to get rid of them.

I have S0-3 on the rear of my car with original SO-2 on the front no handling problems . I did install larger SO-3's on rear because they matched the size of the OEM SO-2's better . I am very happy with performance in dry and wet conditions .

If you have not tried the SO-3's on you car in the matched size ( increasing rear size ) how can you evaluate performance . Again I am very pleased with both dry and wet performance and I only have SO-3's on the rear. It would be very interesting to have some one test a set of SO-3's ( size compensated) against OEM SO-2 on track in dry conditions, with same car, same driver.

Has anyone tried the "Yokohama AVS Sport" tires on their S2k ( or any other car ) by chance? Just wondering how they compare to the S02's.

I finally had my two OEM rear tires replaced. I got two S02s from tirerack.com. For couple months, I was driving on slicks I can totally tell the difference in handling now. Check this out: I had 24500 miles on my OEM rear tires. Of course I didn't do any autocrosses or track time but lots of peeling out.

Wait I'm still confused. . . Are the SO2's on tire rack the OEM honda version? If not, is there any place you can buy the OEM tires? is there any real difference in sizing / performance?
