I also have the RE750s and find them to feel "plush", which ain't a good thing.

I think we need to wait and see what tire actually ends up on the car. The S02s on our car are specific to the S, and the same may be true for the RE050. Also, thread pattern does not HAVE to be a V thread (unless you're part of the 'tires for style' NITTO crowd). The BFG KD is an awesome tire, in the dry - been there done that, and has a thread pattern similar to the RE050 pictured above, as does (as mentioned by S2k1 the RE070's on the STI which is very sticky, I was amassed at how soft the compound on that car was.

Looks like the RE0XX series tires are the aggressive tires in the Potenza line.

Tires are about the easiest thing to change on a car. I really don't care what tires it comes with just as long as there are good aftermarket alternatives.

Keep in mind Bridgestone has a UTQG Rating of 140 A A on both the S-02 and the RE050.
So as far as how soft they will be, the best answer would be - as soft as an S-02.

I saw a Ferrari Enzo at a car fest this weekend and the tires were impressive to say the least. Of course, they seemed twice as wide in the rear as on as S2000. drool....
