Default Bringing car out next week

So i am finally bring out the 05 s2k next week, prabably tuesday depending on weather. I so excited i cant even tell you, however it has sat in a heated garage since novemeber 1st, never touched once. I am planning on going straight to the Dealership for just the basic's, I.E. oil change, inspection, alighnment, possibly diff fluid change depending on what they charge etc. I just have a few questions on this subject however before i do crank her over and drive her for the upcoming season.

I was planning on changing the brake fluid in the car to some better ATE fluid, however is it ok to change the fluid and not the pads at the same time or does it have no Mal effect?

Also i wanted to recondition the top of the car. It looked like it was starting to get a little faded and not as vibrant from when i first bought. I was looking into the products that modifry sells on his page because i heard good things about them. If these are good products let me know and which one is best to use on the top.

Also any other things that i should do before i start the engine and take off, besides letting it warm up properly etc. Your guidence would be greatly appreciated as this is the first winter it was put away. Thanks alot in advance guys from a relatively new owner.

generally, you are supposed to change the oil before you put it away for the winter. Since you didn't, I would just leave it if it's fairly new.

As for other fluids, I would just leave them unless you think they are due to be changed.

I would also check your intake to make sure that there are no rodents that have built a nest in there.

303 aerospace protectant is like sunscreen for your soft-top. I use it, no complaints, just make sure you apply it before a wash because is smears on shiny surfaces. I have also heard good things about raggtop, but never tried it.

I don't think you have to change pads at the same time as brake fluid. But if they are getting low (maybe depending on mileage) it wouldn't hurt to change them. OEM pads last forever and are inexpensive.

I wouldn't go crazy letting the engine idle to warm up for 20min or anything. I would begin driving it slow 20seconds after I turned it on. Just don't rev above 2k for the first minute or two and be easy on the gearbox until all the fluid gets flowing.

have fun, I have your twin car
it will hopefully come out of storage on april 1st.

Thanks S2kobsession for the advice, its great. Thanks gomarlins aswell i cant wait to sit in it and just feel the car again. I miss it greatly, its a big jump from my winter beater which is a 97 dodge stratus with 136K on it and completely rusted out kicker panels.

I just took mine out last Friday. It has been a blast since then. I just can't get this big off my face. I was so tired of driving the beater.

Anyways, s2kobsession pretty much covered everything you needed to know. For myself though, I would still definitely get an oil change as soon as you get her up and running....knowing it has been in storage for so long, especially. As far as the top cleaner, I use raggtopp and it is great. It reconditions and cleans the top, bringing the nice newish color back. Just make sure you don't spray on too much or else you will get run-ons.

Enjoy and have fun when you get her out.

I bought the vinyl convertible top cleaner and protectant. Here is a link from an ebay auction with some good info in it if your interested. This is the exact one I bought. Hope it helps.

Lemme check if I can find some before and after pics of my top with the Raggtopp cleaner.

I have a question for you guys who store your cars over winter. Do you guys cancel your insurance while the car is garaged? I'm going to store the car in September for I don't know how long. I'm considering canceling the insurance.

I'm hoping to get mine back out in the next 2-3 weeks. Expecting another 5" of snow/ice tonight so the roads will be a mess again for awhile.

Keep comprehensive on it. That should cover you for fire and theft. You should drop all the other coverages.
