Seems a little early to me. Don't know about Buffalo, but 60 miles east of you, we still have plenty of snow on the ground and lots of salt on the road. I'm waiting at least until mid April.

I have a question for you guys who store your cars over winter. Do you guys cancel your insurance while the car is garaged? I'm going to store the car in September for I don't know how long. I'm considering canceling the insurance.
It depends mostly on preference really. The most important, are you still financing the car( still have a loan)? You are required to have full coverage and whatever other things you need under your state laws. That would be the first thing. If your payed off, than you could be saving alot by cancelling the insurance for the months you don't drive. Just my .02.

Regarding taking the car out, I'm planning to let mine sleep a while longer. The roads still have a lot of grit on them so if we get some good spring rains, it will wash a lot of it off. Regarding the insurance question, you can do this provided you own the car outright. If its leased or has a loan on it, the lender will require you to carry comprehensive at a minimum in case of theft or destruction.

Fire and theft for me when i switch between active cars - it's like $7-12 Canadian for me, depending on vehicle.

theres is still snow on ground for those who show concern, but the streets have been relatively clean lately, plus we supposed to get some rain tonight and tomarrow so that should help. If it does still snow and what not ill just mooch the parents rides for the day or something. I just miss driving it so much.

Thanks for the insurance info everyone. I may consider completely canceling my insurance. I don't have a loan on the car so I won't be breaking any laws. I have lo-jack installed so that at least gives me some relief on the theft side of the issue. The fire on the other hand...
