Broken windshield already!
I've had the S for as long as my s2ki date is old and I've already cracked my windshield and I'm just wondering if I should go to Honda and get a new one or get one from a glass company.
I've noticed that just about everything hits this damn windsheild since its basically vertical so I;d like to get one that's good quality. Is there any difference in the quality from different glass replacement shops?
Thanks

Windshields are wear items. If they're too strong, they increase the risk of ripping off your face during an accident. Softness is a safety feature.
Go to a reliable glass shop and have them get a top quality one, Honda or other. No biggie. Just the cost of driving a low-to-the-ground roadster.
My '92 Accord EX has a huge crack in the windshield too, but it's on the passenger side. Wyoming has a law against cracks like this, but no inclination to enforce the law. I'm going to just live with it. But the '92 Accord is a beater. We fix everything that makes a functional difference on it, but nothing else.
I just priced the repair for that crack and it is $400 for new glass. My insurance doesn't cover that. Some does.

I've own the car for only 2 months, and I have tons of rock chips on my windshield already(let alone a ton more on the front end of the car). I try to leave some space between the car in front, but all the little flying rocks seem to find its way to my car. For 2 months that I've been driving, I have more chips than the RAV4 that I had for 3 years!
My day to replace the windshield and repaint the front end will come in the near future, I'm sure! Sorry about yours, though

I had my car for about 6 months and it got cracked, however, the windshield I replaced it with is much better than the Honda and does not get rock chips at all.
And as far as the paint is concerned, the rock chips will happen, there's no way around them unless you drive under 70 MPH.

Since I replaced my OEM windshield at about 7k miles (6 mo) with a PGP replacement. I have less chips in 20k miles that I had in 5k. The only OEM part that sould be replaced during the installation is the seal. This should be ordered before you get it replaced becasue it might not be in stock locally. The aftermarket seals do not fit as well, from what I have been told by the shop that replaced mine.

Mine cracked after 6 months, the replacement windshield was an original Honda and this one lasted for about a year and a half, the second replacement is an aftermarket window and for now it is still in one piece.
I'm happy I'm insured for windshield cracks (costs about 50 $ a year
