really need to correct the AP1 rear turn signals. As others have mentioned, 1156 does not fit the socket. Socket needs the 150-degree locking bumps but the 1156 has 190-degree locking bumps.

Oddly, the correct 7507 size does exist but Sylvania doesn't sell it online or anywhere else that i can find: https://www.sylvania-automotive.com/...7ALED.BP2.html

I found this after using this OP to order a pair of LED 1156's and noticing that I can't install them... really need to update that info.

Can you just snip one of the tabs off of the 1156? They're just utilized for locking in place, correct?

yeah you could do that. In my case, I realized after figuring out that they don't just fit, these LEDs I got don't have any actual LEDs on the 'top' of the module so I made sure that the 7507 amber LEDs I bought do have LEDs on the top part.

The 1156's I'm sure would still function, but the original bulbs are kind of aimed straight into the housing so these particular Sylvania 1156's would look darker from behind the car than something that has LEDs that will directly be putting their light straight out the back.
