The burning smell is because your engine is not fully broken in yet. Don't worry, I got it too when I first bought my S.

Any chance there's a plastic bag stuck to the underside of the car? That could conceivably produce that smell :-)

It happened to me too... twice. I've got 300mi on my S. It seems to happen when I make blatant mistakes in my shifting at low speed. Like when the tire lose traction, or drop the clutch at too high an RPM while stationary. (It's only my 4th day driving stick).

It's true that the car isn't broken in, but the smell was very strong. I really hope I'm not burning anything that shouldn't be burnt. Any ideas?

I noticed this smell from inside the cabin while driving.
