Buying a car out of state, should I be worried about rust (pics included)

Looking at the underside I'm thinking the car has been winter driven on salty roads. Sea air won't cause this much corrosion nor does normal driving in non salty road conditions.
Compare to my '06 that spent all it's life on Ohio roads until last Summer when I moved to Richmond. Never driven on salty roads to my knowledge. Sorry only a small area of the gearbox shows but it's pretty clean.
The photos were taken just after putting a cat-back exhaust of the car. The heatshield on the cat was also brand new when the photo was taken as it was modified to cover a Berk High Flow cat. The remainder of the bottom is "as is" when the photo was taken, no attempt was made to clean it.

Folks, that is not what I would consider a "rusty" vehicle. There is some surface corrosion on it, but that is limited to the bolt heads, and common areas of corrosion, such as the battery tie down. The underside "areas of concern" appear to be limited to the front and rear subframe, which aren't pieces of the body, and do not at all hamper function. Depending on the price, I'd actually disregard nearly all of that, with the exception of the fender bolt and the rear driver's side suspension mounting bracket. The real areas of concern for this car should be the trunk pan, the underside of the rear fenders, and the brake lines. Even the "oxidation" on the oil pan appears to be simply remnants of oil leaking around the drain plug, likely from a re-used crush washer.
Again, depending on the price, this isn't really concerning, but leads you to check other areas around the car.

I purchased a Midwest car (Chicago) and it was the biggest mistake of my life. Rust everywhere.
I now make it a point specifically not to buy any east coast or midwest car without a thorough inspection.
I make it a point to stay away from buying in those areas.
