Default Buying out of state

So I'm currently on vacation down here in FL, and I kind of looked for a s2k and I found one that cought my eye and I was thinking of buying, but I just called the guy and told him that I'll be buying the car with no taxes and stuff so out of state. And he said that his dealership wouldent supply me with a temp tag, which kind of threw me off? I really couldent understand him and what he was saying, so i wanted to know how is this possible? I work at a dealership and people come and buy car's from us out of state and we still give them a temp tag. I was just curious if i bought this car now and drove it back would i have problems with cops or anything like that. I dont want to get pulled over with no temp tag I dont want the cops to think the car is stolen or anything. I just want to see how you guys would do this? I mean it's a pretty good deal an 2002 with 76k for 11500$ but its kind of far away. But I would appreciate any comments.

Thx

The guy is a dork. I just bought a S2000 from Georgia. Had it shipped to Wyoming. Car came with a temp tag. You should be okay with the cops as long as you have a bill of sale.

I know the guy is a dork, it just seemed pointless telling him I need a temp tag, he said he got in trouble once by doing that so he doesnt do it any more I just dont want to drive 4 hrs and beat the guy up for pissing me off lol. But I forgot the proof of the bill of sale if the cops pull me over, but still I think there be a catch to it with the cops bs.

If you are buying in Fla. check the CARFAX. Make sure it's not a hurricane car. Good luck with the car.

He said the car was bought at the auction, I asked did the auction announce anything so he said nothing, If i go there I'll ask to see ticket from the auction to see if there were any announcments by the auction i dont want to buy a unibody vehicle, the carfax showed clean,2 owners, i doubte that they'll show me the ticket b/c it'll show what they have in the vehicle, so we'll see. I looks good in the pics.

I have some recent experience with this one. I live in Maryland and had to sell my brothers car in Florida after he passed away a year ago. You can get a (30) day temporary tag from the local tax office / Motor Vehicle Administration for about $4.50. All you need is a copy of the title and a copy of your existing insurance. Take a copy of your insurance card from one of your vehicles at home. It took me about (15) minuites.

Interesting, but I think I've found a solution with my uncle who can purchase the vehicle for me and he said he gets a discount for being 50yrs of age on the taxes or w/e so we might work something out here let him just purchase the car and give me the car to make it seem like that. Thx for all the input guys much appreciate it hope the car doesnt dissapoint, just one problem the bank that i have account with there isnt any here in FL how do i get the loan thru and so forth, fax right or?
