Buying an s2k
Hey, I'm going to buy a BB 2003 s2k this weekend i chose this car because it only has 23,000 miles on it! and it's a good year for my insurance purposes plus it has a glass rear window and all that, but I had set up with the dealer to go get it on saturday. then I find out, yesterday, that it has been wrecked before. This is what the carfax report says:
Accident reported
Involving a left front impact
with a median barrier
Minor/Moderate damage reported
So I'm DEF gonna check out the frame and stuff. Does anyone think it would be bent? If so what should I look for when I go? The guy at the dealer says it looks great, and it's a 'honda certified used car' so wouldn't that mean it had been totally fixed?
Also, what do you think would be the price on a car like that?

Well when I asked the dealer to do a carfax report he did tell me about it. He just didn't come out and mention it when I got approved for the loan. I mean, I guess it's possible he didn't even know?... I don't know
how much are you buying it for? if it's more than like 13k i would just walk away. there are 04's with 50k~ miles going for 15k. i would get the ap2 for the looks/upgrades unless you really "must have the 9k"
I think it should be the law if it isn't, well I'm gonna go drive it and see what kind of a deal I can get for it. I'll let you know how it goes on saturday. if anyone else has anything to add I would still like a couple more opinions. thanks for everything so far

The Integra I had previously I had found out it had been in a wreck after I bought it. The Carfax was clean but there was gunk all over the underside of the enginebay from a busted cv joint and paint spray on the corner of the windshield. It ran perfectly fine but I had to replace the axle because they put in the wrong one or installed it incorrectly and I also had to replace the rotor because the dust shield got bent up against the rotor and made a gouge.
Get a mechanic to look it over to be sure, but I haven't had too much luck buying cars that were in a previous wreck. I'd be wary.

There was a new posting on autotrader yesterday and It's a lot better price on the same color and year, AND it hasn't even been wrecked before... granted it has a few more miles but it's not bad, I'm glad I kept looking Im gonna try to get that one this weekend instead. plus they have an blue 05 with 30k something miles and it hasn't been wrecked either and its still cheaper than that one I was looking at with 23k on it...
