Hello,

I'm buying a used Comptech supercharger with about 5k miles on it. The seller says all I have to do is replace one hose ($2) and it's ready to go. He also said part of the intake is damaged because it was rubbing against the radiator. Is this normal? Should I be worried about that?

Is there anything else I should be checking up on? What preparations should I be making before I bring it in for installation? I'm a bit uneducated on this, so all help is appreciated.

Here is the link to the SC I am buying: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...threadid=140054

PS - I have already searched, so please no flames.

Thank You,

PJ

my suggestion... if you don't fully understand how a supercharger works and what is involved in its installation, don't put it in yet. get the parts sheet. get the installation instructions. become familiar with it.

in the event of a mechanical failure, it will be very helpful for you to know what you have under the hood.

good luck.

I know exactly what he means. On my car, the intake has been very slightly modified, and the edge of the fan assembly has been ground down to avoid the two rubbing. You need to find out if the intake (the black tube going into the supercharger from the intake is torn open, or very frayed, because if it is then youre going to need a new hose at the least, and its going to be a pain (but definietely not impossible) to correct. I hope youre getting s serious discount on this kit. Like, 2k, or so.

Be sure to get the fuel pump. Does the kit come with the ESM? If these 2 are missing, it will cost you an extra $350 to $400 to buy these from Comptech..
